Director, Marketing and Business Development (Parsippany, NJ)
This is a critical strategic leadership position that develops and implements a business and marketing strategy with successful product portfolio. The incumbent ensures that brands’ positioning will meet the revenue and profitability goals in a competitive market.
Essential Functions (not limited to):
Direct and implement a short-term and long-term strategy for marketing and a design product portfolio that generates desired profits
Directs profitability, cost of goods and other analysis to assess current portfolio structure and to identify new products for product launches
Leads the development of customer insights, branding, campaigns and promotions within the budget
Work effectively within One Valio Governance model in relevant areas: marketing, product development and other groups in identifying opportunities for enhancing existing products profitability and introducing new products
Partner with sales to get alignment with the strategic business vision and sales actions accordingly
Identify and implement plans to improve profitability and market share of existing products
Measure performance across all marketing programs and make adjustments as necessary
Leads cross-functional teams (including international members) effectively
Build an effective team that contributes to achievements of the targets
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, MBA preferred.
Excellent business skills; demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to execute plans against targets
Demonstrated leadership excellence: courageous; willing to challenges status quo and to make difficult decisions
Strong analytical skills and data-driven planning and decision making – focus on profitability
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively in an international and culturally diverse environment
Strong negotiation skills and ability to support one’s position when faced resistance
Experience in marketing, introduction of new products and brand management in various categories
Branded consumer goods experience and ability to work effectively under tight timelines.
15 + years of experience marketing, product and business development in an international setting
Domestic and international travel 15%
