Ham and Cheese Breakfast Horns – Juustosarvet

I like to make this recipe after the holidays because it is a great way to enjoy leftover holiday ham! These buttery crescent-shaped pastries are filled with diced ham and shredded Finlandia Swiss cheese.

Ingredients

Dough:

  • 1-3/4 cups all–purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup Finlandia Swiss Cheese, finely shredded
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 Tablespoons Finlandia Perfectly Salted Butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sour cream

Filling

  • 1 cup Finlandia Swiss Cheese, finely shredded; divided
  • 1 cup honey ham, finely chopped; divided

Topping

  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Additional finely shredded Finlandia Swiss Cheese
Instructions

In a large bowl, combine flour, 3/4 cup Finlandia Swiss Cheese, baking powder and salt. Add the softened Finlandia Perfectly Salted Butter and mix to combine. Add sour cream and mix until the dough is smooth.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a 14-inch round. Cut into 8 triangles. Sprinkle 2 Tablespoons of Finlandia Swiss Cheese and 2 Tablespoons of ham on each triangle. Roll each triangle from the large end toward the small end. Bend in the edges to form a crescent shape. Place on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper or non-stick foil.

Brush the top of each horn with egg and sprinkle with additional shredded Finlandia Swiss Cheese. Bake at 375 degrees F. for 15-17 minutes or until golden brown.
