Teriyaki Turkey Burger

Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Vegetable oil, for grilling
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey
  • 1/2 small yellow onion, grated
  • 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce, plus more for serving
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 8 slices Finlandia Lacey Swiss Cheese
  • 4 slices pineapple, fresh or canned
  • 1 red onion, sliced into 1/4”-thick rounds
  • 4 sesame seed hamburger buns, split and lightly toasted
  • 1/2 head bibb or butter lettuce, leaves separated
Instructions

1. Preheat grill to 400°F and coat grates with oil. In large bowl, combine turkey, onion, teriyaki sauce and ginger until just combined. Season with salt and pepper. Form into 4 equal patties. Grill for 5 minutes, flip and cook additional 5 to 7 minutes, until cooked through. With about 2 minutes remaining on cook time, add 2 slices of Swiss cheese to each patty.

2. Meanwhile, brush pineapple and onion slices with oil, season with salt and pepper and add to grill. Grill 2 to 4 minutes per side, until charred.

3. Layer each bottom bun with lettuce, turkey burgers, grilled pineapple and grilled onions. Drizzle with teriyaki sauce and top with top bun.
