Vegetable Oil, for grilling

Ground Turkey

Small Yellow Onion, grated

Teriyaki Sauce, plus more for serving

Grated Fresh Ginger

Slices Pineapple, fresh or canned

Red Onion, sliced into 1/4"- thick rounds

Sesame Seed Hamburger buns, split and lightly toasted

Head Bibb or Butter Lettuce, leaves separated

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to 400°F and coat grates with oil. In large bowl, combine turkey, onion, teriyaki sauce and ginger until just combined. Season with salt and pepper. Form into 4 equal patties.
  2. Grill for 5 minutes, flip and cook additional 5 to 7 minutes, until cooked through. With about 2 minutes remaining on cook time, add 2 slices of Swiss cheese to each patty.
  3. Meanwhile, brush pineapple and onion slices with oil, season with salt and pepper and add to grill. Grill 2 to 4 minutes per side, until charred.
  4. Layer each bottom bun with lettuce, turkey burgers, grilled pineapple and grilled onions. Drizzle with teriyaki sauce and top with top bun.
